On May 24, 2026, through the sponsorship of the Rotary Club of Makati, five (5) members of the Rotaract Club of Makati participated in the “Go Green, Plant Trees at Parklinks” tree-planting activity hosted by the Rotary Club of Parañaque Central at Parklinks Eco Forest in Pasig City.
“Go Green, Plant Trees at Parklinks” is an environmental initiative aimed at promoting sustainability and creating greener urban spaces within Metro Manila. The project supports the development of the Parklinks Eco Forest, a key component of the Parklinks estate that is envisioned to become an urban ecological space in the estate. Designed to enhance biodiversity, improve air quality, and strengthen climate resilience, the Eco Forest will eventually be home to thousands of native Philippine trees. The estate itself dedicates approximately 50 percent of its land area to parks, open spaces, and nature-centered amenities.
During the activity, participants collectively planted 200 tree seedlings, contributing to the continued growth of the Eco Forest and helping create a healthier and more sustainable environment for future generations.
The program commenced with an inspiring message from District Governor Reginald Nolido of Rotary International District 3830. His remarks emphasized the importance of environmental stewardship and encouraged Rotarians and Rotaractors to take an active role in building greener and more resilient communities. Following this, UGP Beatriz Awatin shared the objectives of the project and facilitated a demonstration on the proper planting and transfer of seedlings to ensure their healthy growth and survival.
The tree-planting activity lasted for approximately one hour and brought together more than 120 Rotarians and Rotaractors united by a common commitment to environmental sustainability. After the planting session, participants enjoyed fellowship and exciting raffle prizes generously provided by the organizers, including products from Sassy Colors, vouchers from Montesa Medical Group Aesthetic Center, and dining vouchers for Café Ilang-Ilang at The Manila Hotel.
The event concluded on a hopeful and inspiring note as participants reflected on the collective impact of their efforts. More than simply planting trees, the activity served as a reminder that every seedling planted today contributes to a greener, healthier, and more sustainable future for generations to come.
